Eldred was a Saxon warrior and a friend of Edith and Wulnoth. He didn't trust the new visitors, Vicki Pallister and Steven Taylor. Joining a battle, he fought Vikings, however he was wounded and Wulnoth took him to the monastery. Unbeknownst to him, he was given a Paracetamol tablet by the Meddling Monk. Escaping the Monastery, he revealed that Vikings were inside the Monastery and joined a raid to help capture the intruders. (The Time Meddler)
