John Wakefield was the appointed reporter for Space Centre He relayed the events of Recovery 7 and how Mars Probe 7 was to be returned to Earth.
He was later reluctant to televise and report for General Carrington who wished to reveal the truth of an alien species called the Alien Ambassadors to the world. However, his report was interrupted by the arrival of UNIT, who arrested the General before the interview. (The Ambassadors of Death)
