Peter Purves (born 10 February 1939) played the stranded space pilot, Steven Taylor, who joined the TARDIS crew after defeating the Daleks and Mechanoids. After leaving Doctor Who in 1966, he then rejoined Doctor Who to record Big Finish Productions audio stories for The Companion Chronicles, sometimes alongside his fellow actors.
